March 23

Hello Evergreen Families!

This week we welcomed in spring.  The class discussed changes in spring such as flowers growing and blooming, trees growing green leaves, and animals having babies.  The children also created their own flowers.

We continued our theme of farm to table and discussed where food come from.  We also continued to observe our carrot and sweet potato for changes.  The children noticed that more green is growing out of the top of the carrot and the potato is forming some bumps.  The children also start to match foods to the animal or plant they come from.  We also introduced a farm stand game where children use tweezers to pick fruits off the stand without knocking the other fruits down.

In writing, we continued working on initial sounds.  In literacy, the children practiced rhyming words.  In math, the children made shapes with playdough.  The Z story focused on “Being a Team,” and talked about cooperation and working with others.

Have a great weekend,

Ms. Kristine, Ms. Kira, Ms. Meghan, Ms. Lauren, Ms. Riann
