Hello Aspen families, the children have had another busy week!
This week in large group we read Pass it On, Boom Chicka Rock, The Tiny Seed, Little Tree and Turtle Island. The children worked on identifying numbers and matching quantities with large dice. They also took turns playing a shape sorting game using objects from around the room. In small groups this week the children worked on the Little Red Riding Hood felt board and painting an earth colored mural. There were a few new works open this week in Aspen, including sand trays for scooping, drawing, and practicing letter shapes as well as rubber ducks in the water table and animals in sand in the table later in the week.
This week the children were able to go for a wet and rainy nature walk, play on the Evergreen playground and sing and dance with Ms. Beth Epley.
Spanish: In Spanish this week the children reviewed their colors and counting, talked about animals on the farm and Spanish dancing.
Literacy: With Ms. Charlotte the children acted out nursery rhymes and compared and contrasted Little Miss Muffet picture cards.
Music: In music this week the kids sang Humpty Dumpty and learned movements and sang along with the book Puff the Magic Dragon.
PE: Everyone enjoyed running around the Evergreen playground path and played red light, green light with Ms. Kira.
Have a great weekend!
