Parent Education Events with Healthy Learning Paths
Dr. Chris Marchioni will be leading these events six times throughout the year. Our topic this month was included discussion and strategies to support parents as they practice and enforce appropriate behaviors at home. We have our next meeting in November will discuss how to make sense of all the technology available to children today. How much is too much? Should be a good discussion!
We haven’t set a day or time for this meeting yet, as we are trying to pick a time of day that works best – early evening, or even over the lunch hour? If you are interested in attending, please send Patti an email with your preference. Thank you!
Signs of Illness
At the change of the seasons we start to see our regular crop of illnesses. Right now we have a few children with cold symptoms: cough, runny nose, low fever. Children may still attend if the symptoms are mild – a cough or low grade fever may last several days, and is not a reason to be excluded. However, if your child has a fever over 102, or a deep, productive cough he/she should stay home. We have been alerted by the Boulder County Health Department that Strep is pretty prevalent now also. Symptoms of strep usually include a high fever, stomach ache, head ache, and sore throat.
